Does it talk to me?+
No. The whole point of Pulse is the absence of chatty fitness-app voice-overs. Two configurable beeps. Optional haptic taps. That's it.
What can I use it for?+

Yes — Pulse mirrors your active timer on Watch with distinct haptics per state transition. Start, pause, and skip from your wrist.
Can I change the colors?+
That's part of the point. Eight palettes ship with the app. Pick one in Settings; the whole UI swaps instantly. Save your own custom palette in v1.1.
